Question of the day: Why do non-religious ethnic Jews continue to identify as Jewish?
Why do non-religious “ethnic” Jews continue to self-identify as “Jewish” since they don’t believe in the Jewish religion, and since myths that modern Jews are descended from the biblical Hebrews have been debunked? Shouldn’t they just identify with, or as from, their actual ancestral country of origin? Perhaps they are trying to draw attention to themselves, or are angling for some monetary or careerist gain by identifying as “Jewish.” -- By Chris Moore
